Ostuni

Alberobello

Certainly the most evocative and magical town in the region, where tourists can admire the beauty of the trulli.

Alberobello is in fact the "Capital of Trulli", and the historic center is declared a national monument. Entering the various pedestrian paths, you will discover the kingdom of typical buildings, with their gray stone dome and perfectly whitewashed façade.

The dome is made up of "chiancarelle", a type of brick that has been used for over a millennium. At the top of the dome stands a stone pinnacle holding a marble ball.

Torre Guaceto

Located on the Adriatic coast of upper Salento, not far from Carovigno and San Vito dei Normanni, the Torre Guaceto Marine Protected Area extends over an 8 kilometer stretch of coast between Punta Penna Grossa and the rocks of Apani.

The landscape of the reserve is characterized by coastal dunes, with some stretches of gray dunes. The coast is linear and consists of a clayey cliff. Continuing towards Punta Penna Grossa, however, the coast is low and sandy. Furthermore, the Torre Guaceto beach is accessible to disabled people via a platform.

Lecce

Lecce is the capital of Lower Salento.

It is the baroque city par excellence, famous for the surprising architectural richness of its noble palaces, set like gems in the maze of streets of the ancient centre.

Among the symbols that par excellence represent Lecce's baroque art are: the Basilica of Santa Croce; the church of Sant'Irene; Santa Maria delle Grazie in Piazza Sant'Oronzo.
